The temperature of a soldiers uniform?

My brother is in a Task Force for NATO. Well I haven't talked to him in months but I always had a question in mind. The temperature of a soldiers uniform. For example in Afghanistan The troops have uniforms but I don't understand how it is possible to have such heavy armor under such infernous temperature. Well does the uniform have some sort of body cooling system under all that temperature?
